Land and vegetation clearance

We clear self-seeded trees and scrub from overgrown gardens and larger sites. We recommend a method suited to the vegetation, access and your plans for the land.

From gardens to larger sites

What needs clearing?

An inaccessible garden, scrub along a fence or continuous vegetation across a larger site. We define the working area and retain trees and other vegetation marked in advance.

Accessible, continuous areas

Mechanical scrub clearance

Suitable machinery helps tackle denser growth. We assess stem diameter, access width, slope, ground bearing capacity and obstacles before choosing equipment.

Mechanical mulching can also process small stumps. This leaves the worked surface smooth, without protruding small stumps. We agree the extent of mulching according to the vegetation and site conditions.

Processing vegetation on site can reduce handling and transport, provided leaving the shredded material suits the intended use of the land.

Complex and less accessible spaces

Manual scrub clearance

Manual cutting is useful around fences, buildings and retained trees, or where machinery cannot reach. We also plan access and how material will be carried out.

We can combine manual work with mechanical clearance and detailed finishing.

Hard-to-reach locations

Even where space is limited

We also clear slopes and confined areas between fences and buildings. Access width, gradient and ground bearing capacity determine the equipment and whether manual work is needed.

Send photographs of the site and access →

We also provide vegetation clearance to provide emergency access. See an example of our response to a gas leak.

You do not need to choose the method yourself. Send photographs of your land. We will recommend an approach based on the actual conditions.

A clear agreement before work starts

What your land will look like after clearance

We confirm the area to be cleared, vegetation to be retained and the agreed handover condition. Our quotation defines the work and how removed material will be handled.

In Modřany, clearance of the construction site was followed by groundworks and landscaping. From site preparation to planting ↗

Vegetation and scrub
We remove the agreed above-ground vegetation. Mechanical mulching also processes small stumps to leave a smooth surface without protruding remains. Underground roots may remain.
Branches and shredded material
We agree whether material will be processed and left on site or removed. Neither option is automatically included in every job.

Additional work by agreement

Stumps and roots
Grinding reduces a stump to an agreed depth; extraction removes the root ball. These methods produce different results. Stump removal options →
Soil preparation
We choose a soil mill or rotavator according to the soil, any mixed-in material and the intended use. Soil cultivation does not remove the entire root system. Soil milling →Rotavating →
Levelling and land shaping
Levelling addresses the surface; land shaping changes the contours and levels of a site. Groundworks and site preparation →

Further work may be needed before seeding or construction. We agree the required final condition around your plans.

From first contact to handover

Our process and what affects the price

  1. We get in touch and arrange a visit

We discuss what needs clearing and your plans for the land, then arrange a site visit together.

  2. We assess the site and prepare a quotation

We assess the vegetation, access and scope of work, recommend an efficient method and prepare a quotation based on actual site conditions.

  3. Once approved, we carry out the work

After you accept the quotation, we agree a date, complete the specified work and review the result with you at handover.

Ivy on a wall or tree?

We remove ivy and other climbing vegetation from walls, protected historic fortifications, façades and trees. The method and scope depend on the structure or tree's condition and access.

Your questions answered

Will small stumps remain after mechanical mulching?

Mechanical mulching processes small stumps along with the scrub, leaving a smooth worked surface without protruding stumps. We define the scope according to the vegetation and site conditions. Underground roots may remain; removing the entire root ball is a separate task.

Can you clear only part of a garden or growth along a fence?

Yes. Mark the area to be cleared and vegetation to be retained in your enquiry. We adapt the method to nearby buildings, fences and access.

What if machinery cannot reach the site?

Send the width of the narrowest passage, photographs of the access and details of steps or slopes. We will assess manual work and ways to carry material out.

Will the scrub grow back?

After above-ground vegetation is removed, woody plants may regrow from retained parts. Further action depends on the species and intended use, and may include root removal or regular maintenance.

What needs preparing before work starts?

Define the working boundaries, mark vegetation to be retained and tell us about known utilities, wire, rubble or other obstacles. Any consents and permits required for the particular work must also be in place beforehand.
